Description

At Bury Council we are ambitious as a stock owning authority to deliver safe and secure homes for our residents, fostering vibrant neighbourhoods where tenants are at the heart of our communities. We have reacquired our stock of nearly 8,000 homes, and it is our vision to transform how we work to be a social landlord of choice, creating places where individuals aspire to live. We want housing to be an integral part of our council services, at the heart of supporting residents to lead healthy, fulfilling lives, and be central to our wider ambitions of inclusive growth and regeneration.

This is one of four key roles in our team that are integral to shaping our vision to build a service that is tenant focused, is fit for purpose and ensure that our homes are safe and meet decent homes standards, where we support those that are most in need.

We are building teams focused on the delivery of routine, planned and responsive maintenance that ensures our stock condition meets the expectations of tenants. Our new Head of Repairs and Maintenance is a key leadership role in our in-house delivery, managing large teams across diverse disciplines. Your approach will be customer focused and commercially minded, maximising the use of resources to the greatest effect for our tenants. Promoting an environment of continuous improvement will be crucial, delivering our investment programmes, and implementing a new operating model that connects with services across the organisation as one council. We are seeking someone who inspires teams to help us create a borough to be proud of.

This is a unique opportunity to join us at a key point in Bury’s journey, delivering a vision where social housing empowers residents to be part of our borough’s ambitions for the future. We are seeking a values-driven individual who is passionate about our vision, who believes in the power of what we are trying to achieve. Let’s Do It!
